Collision Grounds- Joanne Armitage and Anya Stewart Maggs (2019)
Poor Image Projects 7
Assembly House, Leeds
Collision Grounds was an audio-visual installation which, at moments throughout it duration, was performed by the artists. It was generated as a series of responses between the artists who exchanged video and sound clips over the course of several months. Pairing electronic sound with footage of landscapes gathered from a range of geographical locations, the work foregrounds the tactile, repetitive, shifting noise patterns that occur across nature, sound and in digital technology. The performance saw the artists use live coding as a way of generating improvised sound and visuals with code.
